What is Tin Tetrachloride Pentahydrate?

Anhydrous tin tetrachloride is a colorless and easy-flowing liquid, and the gas molecules are in a regular tetrahedral configuration. Used as a cationic polymerization catalyst for isobutylene, α-methylstyrene, etc.

Anhydrous tin chloride can absorb a large amount of chlorine at low temperature, and at the same time, its volume expands and its freezing point decreases; It can react with ammonia to form double salt; React with alkali metals to form stannate.
