The upper organic layer contains a large amount of citronella diol.

(3) Citronella diol is cyclized to form rose ether (C10H18O) under acidic conditions. To the upper organic layer, add dilute sulfuric acid with a volume of 8%-25% of citronellol and a mass fraction of 3%-15%, stir and react for 5-25 hours, and then add 4%-10% by volume of citronellol with a mass fraction of 10%-20% sodium carbonate aqueous solution, after neutralizing excess sulfuric acid, the reaction is naturally terminated. Stop stirring, let stand for stratification, the lower water layer is discharged to the sewage pool, and the upper organic layer is dehydrated and used for later use.
