Application:
Used for trace analysis and alkaloid determination of rubidium and cesium.
Production method:
- Add gold powder (or foil) to nitric acid, hydrochloric acid aqueous solution (aqua regia) to dissolve it. Evaporate to a certain extent, add a small amount of hydrochloric acid, and pass in chlorine gas, stir and cool to obtain crystals, which are pure gold chloride after drying.
- Add pure gold foil (high purity product) to the mixture of nitric acid (relative density 1.40): distilled water: hydrochloric acid (relative density 1.19) = 1:5:5 (v). The solution evaporates to a thick state to drive out the excess nitric acid. Add a small amount of hydrochloric acid to evaporate again. Repeat 3 to 4 times. When the last evaporation is done, slowly pass chlorine into the solution. The obtained mixture is cooled under constant stirring, and the obtained powder is dried to become the reagent crystal chloroauric acid.
