- The fourth in the series of developer used to develop color film, usually called CD-4, chemically called 4-(N-ethyl-N-hydroxyethyl)-2-methylphenylenediamine sulfuric acid Salt. During color development, the oxidizing color developer reduces the silver atoms in the silver halide crystals, and then combines with the color coupler to form color dye molecules.
