1. It is derived from the esterification of acrylic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. Its reaction formula is as follows,

Acrylic acid and 2-ethylhexanol (molar ratio of 1:1.1) and the added mixture of ethanesulfonic acid and hydroquinone (0.01 mol%) were reacted with toluene as a diluent at a temperature of 120 °C The obtained product is neutralized with sodium carbonate, and the acrylic acid, residual catalyst and hydroquinone to be reacted are removed first, and the remaining 2-ethylhexanol and toluene are fractionated to obtain acrylic acid-2-ethylethyl ester
2. Gas-phase transesterification. Transesterification was carried out with methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexanol, the molar ratio was 3:1, the reaction temperature was 227-228°C, the conversion rate was 32%, and the yield was 97%. The transesterification catalyst was titanium tetrachloride supported on silica gel. In addition, transesterification can also be carried out in liquid phase, and the yield is generally 70%-80%.
